    Camera Toss Photography

OK. So you take your fabulously pricey DSLR, complete with fabulously pricey lens, lock the shutter open....and throw it in the air.
They call it Camera Toss Photography.

Thanks for sharing the link Pat. I enjoyed looking at them. But I definitely won't toss the only DSRL I have

Very cool, Pat, thanks for sharing. I have never heard of this before. I think I will give it a try, but I might line the ground around me with bubble wrap or a mattress first.

I think I'd want a large diameter fishing net or something to catch the cam with.

I don't blame you. I shared this thread with my wife along with my desire to attempt this type of photography. She walked into the other room and came back in with my Sony Cyber Shot and told me I could try it with that because there was no way I was throwing my D90 in the air. Looks like I'll have to wait until she's gone. I'm going on a shoot with a friend of mine tomorrow, I may just give it a try then. If I get anything good, I will post it here for you to see.

I'm guessing it's be best to start out modestly. A few short tosses and check the screen. Maybe a couple of practice tosses with an uncamera-like object. (I have an advantage, I think. I learned how to juggle three balls years ago. Probably good cross training. )
Good luck. If we don't hear back from you within a couple of days I'll light a candle to your cam.

Good suggestion. I tried the short toss last night in a restaurant and here is the unedited result. I ventured outside and tossed it a bit higher, but I wasn't happy with the outcome of the photos. I am happy to report, however, that the camera made it back home safe and sound.

Yes, nice, Eddie. I was thinking...if you had a good secure pro strap you could lock the shutter open (or dial in a long exposure) and twirl the cam around on the strap.
Don't be telling Mrs. Eddie that I've been encouraging you now. I don't want any midnight visits from Mrs. Eddies burly brothers.
