    Japanesse maple

Shot this in the backyard. i like the DOF . There is a tree with green leaves in the neighbors yard that looks black... (I am thinking because the sun was low and behind it). I also used a fill flash to bring out the highlights of the lone leaf.

This is very nice John. I also like the composition and DOF.
Did you use manual or Autufocus for these, and have you set your camera up to be able to view/use/choose for numerous focal points?

Unique effect John. The perspective and bokeh create an intriguing composition.
    Nice DOF.

    Re: Japanesse maple

Thanks for looking Sandy. The first shot I took had about a third of the DOF in it and the rest was sky. So I played around until I got the whole tree in the background. I think (correct me if I'm wrong) because the sun was behind the other tree it created somewhat of a silhoutte. The brightness poking through is the channels of light through the tree??? That was my thought anyway thanks again Sandy.

    Re: Japanesse maple

Kaye. Thanks for looking and commenting. I can set up for a number of focal points. Right now, being in manual mode it takes me a bit of time to get the proper exposure so I am "focused" (pardon the pun) on correct exposure right now. Once i am comfortable with that I will start playing with a bit more and so on. This particular photo was taken with auto focus. I can't wait to unload everything this camera has to offer. It can get a bit overwhelming for me sometimes
    Thanks
    John
