    Newborn Kittens

A street cat gave birth at my porch. I guess we just have to take care of them now We tried to give her a box with a blanket, and she did put her kittens inside it for a while. But then she chose to lay them on the floor instead.

    Hi Tenny,

What beautiful shots of these cute little orange furry balls. Are you really sure you want to keep them ALL?
The kitten in No. 2 looks like it has a sore nose!

How cute are they? I think it's a very nice thing you are doing to help take care of them all. Good luck with it.

    Hi Kaye, Eddie & Marianne,
Thanks so much for the nice comments. Actually I wasn't sure of keeping them. I was wondering, what if the mother get pregnant again? uh-oh...
Right now, I just have to leave them there. It's okay if they want to stay. As far as I know, cats tend to move a couple times after the birth. So it's up to the mother then. So far I don't do much rather than feeding the mother. She can take care of her babies by herself.
I heard that we are not supposed to touch the kittens, otherwise the mother might not want them anymore because of the "human smell". Is it true? So even though they are really cute and we really want to touch them, we still keep our distance and try not to touch the kittens, not until they grow up a bit. The kittens start to open their eyes now, and the mother has moved them inside the box. It's amazing to see how they're growing. My son loves them so much.
Oh Kaye, you're right about the nose, it was so fragile at that time, and the nose was healing after bleeding. The mother keep cleaning them up every time.
Thanks again for all comments. I appreciate that

Hi Tenny what sweet kittens and mother. She looks in good condition for a street cat from what I can see. I'm not surprised you are keeping an eye on them all .

Hi Shirley, thank so much for the nice comment. Yeah, the mother is not bad for a street cat, considering they fight for food. There are so many cats live on the street in my country. Their populations are too many, people can't take them as a pet anymore. It's sad, isn't it? I'm usually allergic to their fleas, specially of the newborns but so far I don't have any. So we still keeping them. Thanks Shirley.

    Re: Newborn Kittens

Tenny, I would think if the mom trusts you enough for you to pet her then she'd be okay with the kittens being touched. If not she will move them but since she accepted the box with your smell on it she should be okay with you touching them.

Thanks for the comment Judy, you must be right about this. Even though she's been trying to find a new place, she feels more safe there. So she just move her babies from the box to the floor back and forth. and she even trusts us enough, leaving them while she's taking a walk. However, I think I still have to wait some more time. At least she is fine with me taking the pictures of the kittens. Thanks Judy.

Tenny, adorable shots. The kittens look exactly like the mother! Like Kaye said, good focus on the eyes!!
