This is an image I took of our beautiful daughter, Ursula. I was prompted into doing some after visiting a well known professional studio to have some portraits done of our little one. The images taken by the photographer at the studio of course, were fantastic, however, the prices also knocked us out! I decided to see if I could take some similar shots at home, for a fraction of the price! I did this with a bit of improvisation in my kitchen at home......My wife supported Ursula, using the white walls as a background and natural light through a large window. I used aperture priority set at f/5.6 to try to get nice close up pictures and blur out any background detail on the wall. Unfortunately, I don't have a fast lens so I had to push the ISO to 400 to get a fast enough shutter speed for hand held shots. I did not want to use flash as I was wary of blowing out the natural light. I shot in RAW to give me the best possible quality. This was one of several I took and was my first attempt at reproducing studio like images.
