by Richard Watts.
I guess I did not read the directions well enough on lesson one. I only got to upload the landscape example instead of all three. So here is a portrait example. It is a retired woman in China meditating while writing Chinese calligraphy with water in a park at the Summer Palace outside Beijing.

by Brenda Davis.

Just got started today, but I'm excited! I just hope I can figure all of this out with my new camera. After reading about different cameras, I wish I would have waited to purchase one. But I have a CAnon PowerShot SX20IS. It doesn't have a removable lens, which I would have really preferred now that I read and studied the first lesson! But, as I learn, maybe this one will do okay.

Looking forward to meeting people, taking pictures and enjoying the course.

by ALISON CARTER.

Well I started on this course on Tuesday & really have enjoyed it so far. I am waiting on feedback from the 3 pictures that I uploaded. Can't wait to really dive in to the course & learn how to use my new camera that I bought. I have a Canon Rebel XSI- I had a Canon Powershot & loved it it but I wanted a camera that I could do more with.

The picture that I have attached is a picture of a tree that I took on the side of the road. I have always thought that the tree was so beautiful. One day I just stopped & took a picture of it. I actually used my powershot camera for this picture. I took & edited it on my Corel photo editing software that I have. It is one of my favorite pictures besides the ones I take of my kids.

by Osgaldor Storm.
HI!

My name is Storm, my dad actually gave me this course as a gift. I have been looking for a good online course in photography for a couple of months and everything I found was extremely expensive. I was thrilled when I saw the price for the PP course.I received a Nikon D40 DSLR as a gift in February of 09 and have been wanting to get into photography as a career, but with all the bells and whistles on my new camera, it took me all of five minutes to discover I was in way over my head.I think what appealed most to me about this course was the promise to teach how to use all my manual settings and the technical matter behind photography. As a rank newcomer to the field of photography, I have a lot to learn, and I am very excited about what is to come. I have already finished lesson 1 and 2 and I'm doing well so far. Due to a major stroke I had in May of 09, I do not have the use of my left arm and hand anymore. so that effectively put an end to my career as a pianist.since I now have to type with one hand, I hope you will forgive me if I have a lot of typos. I cannot tell you how excited I am to be in the course and I look forward to seeing all your photographs and hearing your feedback on my work.

So, again, hello to you all, best of luck, and let's get snapping.

by jody dimarcello.
I thought I would blog today, something I am not familiar with, so it will be very informal. I have been shooting for just about 15-20 years if not a little more or less. I have had many cameras in my short lifetime of 32 years. I started with a Vivitar 110 - remember those - LOL with the film that looked like a roll of toilet paper unraveled going to another roll. Then i got an automatic Minolta 35 mm - takes beautiful pictures. Which i still have. The vivitar died Something I always wanted was an SLR camera, took a class in college when i got there. I actually borrowed someones camera to take the course. Then i decided to buy my own. So I purchased a Minolta SLR 35mm - takes unbelievable pictures!!! Then I moved onto the digital world .. whats film?? i wonder ... LOL i purchased a Kodak 3.1 MP - took good pictures. Then decided after a few years, seeing the pixels/resolution expanding I wanted another camera yet again. So got a kodak, 6.1 MP, took great pictures. Clear and able to enlarge with out distortion. Then I was getting antsy yet again, and really splurged this time. I bought the Rebel T1i EOS 500d Digital SLR 15.10mp (RAW) . Ok this one i named - Flash - she is my new baby. Now you want to talk about nice pictures!!!??? Flash - is in a class of all her own. I decided to expand my knowledge out - to possibly become a photographer that I have been wanting to do for so long now. With the equipment I have - I should be able to Please check out my pictures and please comment. I welcome the help. So that's all for now, more later.

by Bernadette Akers.
I signed up for the course three days ago and have already done the first three lessons and am onto the assignment 3. Luckily I had already started to do some research on photography by looking at different sites such as Canon - World of EOS which did give me the basics. The digital tech unit was easy as I have grown up with technology and studied it at University as well. The challenge will be for me now to find the time to get the shots for the assignment as I am about to start my Masters in Religious Education. Wish me luck!

by Edith Vizoso.
Hope everyone had a great holiday season with their families! Happy New Year! I have only made it through lesson 5 thus far, as work and health complications have gotten in the way, but one of my goals this year is to finish this course I am really learning a great deal. This course is a great value for the price we have paid.

Finally, after more than two and a half years I have completed my course and I am waiting for the final test score.

Proud Photography has taught me how to take stunning photos and I thank Peter for all his help, he gave me advice not only on my photographs but also answered my questions about buying a camera, above and beyond the call of duty.

Since my enrollment in this coure I have put together a professional studio to do portraits, never could have done that without the Proud Photography course, thanks again.

Hi guys,

I was so pleased to find your course. I recently purchased a Canon 1000d and was desperateto learn to really USE it. I have a couple of friends that take some fantastic pics with their cameras and that was what got me really interested. Now my husband is becoming interested too so its given us another thing to have as a shared interest. He says I will have to teach him when I have learned lots!

by Alan Plummer.
Wow, the more I learn the pickier I get. Travel Photography lessons were easy, perhaps because I shoot mostly Landscapes I understood everything without problems. I even made a point to get out and shoot more photos when they were not required.

Lesson 10, on the other hand, was a tough one for me. I shot so many photos of people. I just couldn't get something that I felt was good enough to turn in. I finally got one that worked for this assignment.

I think it was because I do not yet own a flash (coming soon) that it was difficult to really grasp it. This is no fault of Proud Photography but rather just a matter of me not having the needed items to really dive in.
I will be ordering a flash unit this week and when it comes I will retake the lesson.

Lesson 7, Black and White Photography rocked!! Not very often fdo I go out and purposely shoot intending to convert to B&W....it forces you to change the way you think about colors and tones. I live in Beautiful contry with landscapes galore and very little architecture. I decided to submit this "low key" image of my daughter. I thought it turned out well. I will have to see what Greg thinks though.

by Sue Miller.
hi all again well things are going well I now have my feedback from Greg (thanks Greg I enjoyed reading what you had to say) It was better than I thought so it has given me confidence to go on. I am now going to attempt to mess about with shutter speeds which I am really excited about having never done anything like that before. As I say in my profile I have only ever used basic cameras but have found myself a lovely SLR 35mm camera on ebay and some lenses and am looking forward to using it. Have to wait to the weekend though happy snapping x

by Graham Thompson.
Got my first feedback from the three pre course pictures sent for assignment 1. Thankfully it was good positive feedback pointing out where I could have improved them and at what stage in the course this sort of improvement will be covered. What I was dreading was the 'Oh nice shots, you should do well'. How refreshing to get real feedback, I now know this course will be good. Thanks Greg

by Michael Kovach.
Hello all, I' just beginning on assignment 6 and this will definitely be a challenge, especially since I do not have a separate flash. I don't usually shoot indoors, and am quite use to constant changes in lighting since I'm always shooting in the wilderness, parks and zoos; nevertheless. after reading the course material this assignment will be real interesting. Here is a capture of a cat that has some interesting lighting applied. Let me know you thoughts on this capture--I'm always interested in other points of view and suggestions. The eyes have the reflection from the grass, that's why the eyes are green

by Barbara Phillips.
Got my composition photos done and sent, waiting for my grade.
One of my hardest challenges in taking photos is getting everything in focus, don't know if it is my shaky hands or my bad eyesight.
What is a breath taking photo?

Is it simply beautiful oceans & sky or is it much more; i think the question most of us ask ourselves is how can i make this a breath taking photo?...

Practise makes perfect & any camera can be professional just remember in any photo you should always check your lighting & background, just focus cause you could snap the next most breath taking photo.

P.S. Iam a Proud Photographer & you should be too.

by Judy St John.
Hello fellow enthusiasts! I've just completed my first assignment... and after agonizing over which pictures to send, I finally just "did it" and I feel like I have a pretty good selection. We'll see what my instructor thinks I'm looking forward to learning more about how to take great pictures -- on purpose!

by Judy St John.
Hello everyone, I've been away for awhile now as work has kept me from enjoying my photography... but I'm back. I went to Texas for Memorial day weekend and spent a day at the Dallas Botanical Gardens and Arboretum. I took about 167 pictures (that I kept) and here is one that I'm pretty proud of. Hope you all like it.

by Juan Alonso.
I am learning now about composition. I have always heard about the rules of thirds and leading lines, but this section was more complete. I like the homework assignment, it makes me think the shots through.

by Gwenn McCaleb.
This course is going to be very helpful. I love starting from the most basic information. Because I have always been a "natural" photographer (ie: composition and color are intuitives), I have never taken the time to really understand technique. Sort of like a fiddler who never studied theory or learned correct position, yet plays relatively well from memory, without knowing how to read music. I've found that actually, in my humble opinion, the finest fiddlers have classical violin in their background. Thus, for me, it's time to study theory of photography and be able to avoid the inevitable mistakes latent in just "pointing and shooting" my fabulous Nikon D60! I want to take more than relatively good photos.

is anyone really good at exposure compendsation and do you use Histograms to reliably get correct exposure.

I believe using Auto on a DSLR is cheating but I am struggling during the middle of the day exposures (too bright).

by Patrick Lewis.

Hey classmates,

I was reading through the most recent blog entries and it appears that most are from people just starting the course. I thought I'd throw some thoughts from a 12 lesson veteran in the mix. I am on my last assignment and I have to tell you that taking this online course is one of the best decisions I have ever made for myself. I am enjoying taking pictures so much more now.

The best part of the course for me has been having a reason to get out there and try things . . .that's how I learn best. The coursework was pretty simple but I doubt I would have retained anywhere near as much without the assignments. I never thought I'd say I wish we had more homework.

My point is that I am nowhere near getting paid for my pictures yet, but I know my camera and I am starting to take much better pictures on purpose. I have three pictures left on my final assignment and I will be a graduate. For those of you just getting started, I envy you. If you can lose your ego and just jump in I guarantee it will be worth it.

Good Luck!

Patrick

by Patrick Lewis.

I had to go to Ft. Collins Colorado this week for work. While there I was itching to take a few pictures of something . . anything to try and put all of the information I have been digesting to use.

So, while I was down having a Ceasar Salad in the hotel bar I thought I'd try to do something a little different. What I did was placed the camera on the bar aimed at a beer and a shot that one of the other guys was drinking. It took a couple of shots to get the auto focus to get the beer but eventually it focused on the right subject.

I really like the way the picture came out. I have to admit though that I did not see the reflection on the bar until I looked at the picture. It's pretty cool and I will start looking for them on purpose from now on.

by Carol Clark.
December 26, 2008

Happy day after everybody. We've survived another holiday season!

Now to tackle my new goal, to master this camera that sits and laughs at me. I will not be laughed at!

I'm on assignment 3 and while I'm excited to do it and start the real learning, I'm stumped on where to set up to shoot. Since 9/11 it's not so easy to pull out a camera and tripod to take pictures of strangers. Authorities frown deeply at such things. I'd love to go to the mall today because I'm sure it will be busy with all the holiday gift returns to be made. It would provide such opportunity with a variety of subjects and I could shoot to my little hearts' content. I'm not real thrilled with setting up outside near an intersection to photograph cars. It's darn cold out there! Because I'm new at this, and very slow, I'm going to look incredibly conspicuous.

Yanno, that's one of the reasons I don't like living here. I see loads and loads of photos people take where they live and I say to myself that I want to live 'there' because they seem to have so much more subject matter available to them. There isn't much of anything around here so it's discouraging.

Today is another day. I'll come up with something.

by Carol Clark.
Well, I finally did it. Today I signed up for the course. I've been pondering it for a while but decided to gift myself with it for Christmas.

I see so many beautiful photos. I want to shoot photos like that; photos I'd be proud to hang on my walls or give to people.

I used to have a beautiful Nikon 4004s that I only used in 'auto' mode because I was so intimidated by both cost and the equipment itself. Thanks to the age of digital I can take as many crappy shots as I want to without any of the guilt over damage to my budget. The equipment still intimidates me, but I'm determined to learn this new sparkling Nikon D80 and have loads of fun while I do it!

I've already zipped through lessons 1 & 2 and am ready to experiment with lesson 3. Now, to find the right place for these shots. I'm afraid I'll be limited as the temps outside and falling snow are not conducive for a beginner like me who isn't about to do anything fast.

*sigh* I really do want to learn.

I have never done anything like this before and am really looking forward to the feedback and to charting my progress over the coming months.
I have only been taking photos for 2 years and because of work commitments and looking after my wife I haven't spent any real time practising.
by Darlene Bice.

I just started my first lesson, well I actually finished the first 2 and I am so happy with it so far. I've been a "photographer" for many years, but have skipped over the really important stuff that I should have learned long ago. I could have avoided so much trial and error at some shoots. I'm SO glad I found this very affordable school. I think the feedback is the primary reason I joined this program (also the price lol) and I am looking forward to sinking my teeth into the next lessons.

by Jeffrey Westenbarger.

I have just finished assignment 11 and know I'm a better photographer, my sence of composure is one of the best things I've learned.

Everyone who has seen my photographs recently, has told me that I now "shoot like a pro", and that was the whole reason behind joining this course.

I had tryed other course in the past only to feel let down, but with PP I have learned more than I expected, the feed back is sometimes harsh, but thats how you learn...by trial and error, so thanks for the criticism.

I only do the assingments in my spare time so it has taken me a year to get where I'm now, but PP has been patient and understanding.

If anyone was contemplating taking a photography coure than may I suggest Proud Photography....the course will do you Proud.

Delkin's "world's fastest" 16GB UDMA CF Pro card

by mike andy.

Delkin Devices, Inc. has released the world's fastest 16GB UDMA CompactFlash PRO card.

The CompactFlash Card boosts the capability of a 305x read/write speed (45MB/sec sustained). This is partly due to the fact that the CF card uses high grade SLC NAND flash modules, which allows the aforementioned large data transfer rates.

Best suited for the Canon 1Ds Mark III or D300 and D3x from Nikon, nonetheless it also works with non-UDMA shooters.
Additionally the card-to-computer transfer times are touted to be very low, especially when the card is used with the company's UDMA enabled ExpressCard and CardBus adapters.

In conclusion the Compact Flash PRO 305x 16 GB seems to be well equipped to provide both very large data transfer speeds, as well as a storage capacity to match.

The 16GB UDMA CompactFlash PRO card is now available worldwide for $400.

Skin tones and gradations are reproduced naturally with rich reproduction of tones.

D2XMODE2
This optional Picture Control simulates color reproduction at a D2X/D2XS Color mode setting of II. This optional Picture Control is suited to images that will be extensively processed or retouched.

D2XMODE3
This optional Picture Control simulates color reproduction at a D2X/D2XS Color mode setting of III. Choose for nature or landscape shots. Greens and blues are vividly reproduced.

The links can be downloaded here:

Windows - DX2 Picture Control for D300
Macintosh - DX2 Picture Control for D300
Windows - DX2 Picture Control for D3
Macintosh - DX2 Picture Control for D3

by mike andy.

The Guardian's Prudence Hone revealed some of 2007's best photography collections. Here are the top five selected:

The first is Steve McCurry's new collection In the Shadow of Mountains which covers his visits to Afghanistan over the past 30 years, documenting daily life through the ruins nonetheless the book is full with colors.

The second is Mine Eyes Have Seen: Bearing Witness to the Struggle for Civil Rights, done by Bob Adelman, that explains the difficulties faced by black Americans in the mid-20th century with the photos mostly in black and white to stress the contrasts.

Black Britain: A Photographic History by Paul Gilroy gets third place ,it embraces lighter topics from a jolly Jack Straw, Condoleezza Rice and to a football shirt.

An obvious pick is Propaganda: Photographs from the Soviet Archives that lands in number four by Mark Holborn who writes in his introduction:
"If you were to replace the title of this book with 'Advertising', it could be reconstructed on the American postwar dream."

Which leads me to number five which is Ralph Lauren by Ralph Lauren that is mainly one huge advertisement, showing the master-seller's glamorous campaigns through the years, interspersed with more personal shots of the Lauren family at home or on holiday.

Here are the other photography collections that made it on Prudence Hone's fancy list:

Song Without Words: The Photographs and Diaries of Countess Sophia Tolstoy by Leah Bendavid-Val
The Faces of World War I by Max Arthur
Africa by Sebastião Salgado
Tribes of the Great Rift Valley by Elizabeth L Gilbert
The Genius of Photography by Gerry Badger
Edward Steichen: Lives in Photography by Todd Brandon and William A Ewing
Women Seeing Women: A Pictorial History of Women's Photography, edited by Lothar Schirmer
Dior: 60 Years of Style, from Christian Dior to John Galliano, by Farid Chenoune and Laziz Hamani
Lanvin by Dean Merceron
I Love Pictures! by Tim Walker
New York Noise: Art and Music from the New York Underground, 1978-88.by David Byrne, Cindy Sherman, Glenn Branca, and Robert Longo
Tiffany Colored Gems by John Loring

by mike andy.

Here is an idea for women who are looking for a great gift for themselves or to share with someone they love.
What about a photography session? A pin-up photography to be precise.
Angela Karen who works in Birmingham has opened her studios for that purpose.
Karen is a photographer specialized in making everyday women look like glamorous 40's era models explains:

"Some women work all day and they just kind of have to come out of their shell and play."
"Its all about the lips and the liner and the eyelashes."

Karen insists that her start in photography wasn't with pin-up work, but it evolved towards it as the style became more mainstream again.

One of the photographer's recent client, a Birmingham businesswoman named Angela Turner who had trendy photos taken of herself said she'd do it again and added:

"I thought how great would that be when I'm 80 years old to have something like that. I thought it'd be a lot of fun so that's why I did it,".

Karen hopes by giving women a chance to get all dolled up and have their picture taken, they will realize how beautiful they really are.

She said that she has always wanted to make women feel beautiful, and as long as she is able to do that she will consider that she has accomplished her goal.

Angela thinks every woman should do it because it's a unique experience for a lady to look at herself in a new way and see different parts of her personality.

The photography session starts at around $500 a day.

For more information, log on to her website by clicking here.

Tips For Indoor Photography

by mike andy.

When you can not leave your house to photograph the beauty of nature due to harsh weather or geographical issues, focus your attention on indoor documentary or still life photography better known as "tabletop."

Well known photographer Paul F. Moloney explains that you should set up a table to avoid working from your knees.
Then arrange the elements you want in the pictures, and exploit your creative notions.

Moloney reveals that he still employs the basic compositional and lighting practices meaning that you should compose the elements for eyes traveling from left to right to the primary subject.
Paul admits that he personally prefers positioning the light at a 45-degree angle to the subject that will be photographed.
The photographer insists that you should not take his recommendations as rules, you should also explore your ideas and imagination.

When taking still life photographs it is better for the pictures to remain quite simple and close-up.

He advices you to begin with few elements, simple composition and carefully placed light, either electronic or ambient.

The more intense the light you use, the smaller aperture and greater depth of field you can achieve.
The closer the light, the more contrast it gives. The farther it is from your subject, the more diffused, less contrast you will see in your photograph.

Depth-of-field also is an important tool in this type of photography. The closer you are to the subject, the less the depth of field. Distance from your subject increases the depth-of-field.

After understanding the basics, you can integrate more elements into your photos. Multi-element photographs can be very rewarding and exciting for the viewers.

Nicole Perugini : Expression Through Photography

by mike andy.

Nicole.C.Perugini received her first camera when she was only 7 years ,since then she has always had one at hand.

Her father gave her a Polaroid camera after living the traumatic experience of being raped.

Perugini explains that the lens of a camera is a way to capture a story that she wants to share with other people.
Nicole said:
"(Being raped is) the sort of thing that sends you off into space so to speak,"
"But the camera, I think it sort of grounded me and then gave me new eyes just to see everything ... to share my appreciation for everything."

Unfortunately the gift of being a photographer was taken away from her a few months ago when someone stole her camera and equipment.
She said that the robbery devastated her, because the camera bag contained all of her memory cards, which had all the pictures she had taken of her 3-year-old daughter, Margo, along with past and future exhibits.
To add insult to injury Perugini, who can only work part-time because of multiple sclerosis, was unable to replace what she had lost due to her financial situation.

Losing her equipment ignited a number of feelings in Perugini, who revealed that at one point she even managed to feel sorry for the person who felt desperate enough to steal her belongings.

Nontheless Perugini's story has a happy ending, because her precious camera has been found in a nearby pawn shop and the police will eventually give it back to her.

While waiting for the return of her work tools she is moving ahead by planning future exhibits. She's currently working on a winter show that could take place in January or February.

The exhibit will feature a group exposing at the Monty Shane Gallery in Midtown.
Perugini said she hasn't decided what photographs will be a part of the exhibit, but she's leaning toward something that will give a voice to the homeless population.

At her last exhibits, Perugini showed flowers, graffiti, architecture and homeless people just some of the things she photographs daily.

The desire to reach out to the homeless population stems from her natural compassion and a recent conversation she had with a homeless man on her way to meet her father for breakfast.

Last year, Perugini launched a Web site called 11photographs.com that shows some of her work and tells a little of her history.
She says that photography is not a job she simply takes photos whenever a subject speaks to her and she hopes that others are able to see the beauty she sees.

Jason Behnken's Nature Photography Tips

by mike andy.

Jason Behnken is a well known photojournalist who graduated from Western Kentucky University.
He is currently working for the Tampa Tribune and has decided to give few nature photography tips that can help beginners and professional photographers.

*KNOW YOUR EQUIPMENT: For example if you plan to use a wide-angle lens to photograph a bird 50 yards away you won't get a great shot.
Jason explains that a 600 mm lens does little good for most landscapes.
Therefore plan out what you would like to photograph and pack your gear accordingly.

*USE A TRIPOD: Behnken reveals that a tripod is a great tool that can be used to handle the weight of longer glass and for slower shutter speeds.
You can use slow shutter speeds to give the sense of movement, such as a flowing river or leaves blowing in the wind.

*RECOGNIZE GOOD LIGHT: He also adds that early morning and evening offer greater light, you should take into consideration that scenics naturally look different at different times of day.

*MANUALLY EXPOSE YOUR IMAGES: The photojournalist advices snappers to use the manual exposure setting on their camera because it allows you to be in control of the image.
Example: Exposing for the highlights will permit the shadows to become darker and the image to have more contrast.

*LOOK FOR DEPTH: Try to simply take a couple steps back it will allow you to see a different and more complete image.

*BE PATIENT: And, make sure you carry along lots of bug spray and sunscreen.

Tone mapping and HDR

by tom mills.

Anyone interested in tonemapping? It is very easy to do if you have the right software...I use Photoshop CS3 for RAW conversions and then Photomatix Pro for the HDR1 generating and tonemapping.

You can generate HDR from one exposed photo but I find it best to secure camera on tripod and take at least three shots using AEB2 if your camera has it, what you are looking for is underexposed shot to get details in the lighter areas, 'perfect' exposure for midtones and overexposure for details in the darker areas.

If you don't own a tripod don't worry as you can fake it with RAW conversion...i.e change the exposure value before you open the RAW file, do this three times and save them to your desktop, open Photomatix and click on HDR tab on tool bar, then click where it says generate and it will then ask you to load images, browse to desktop and select your saved images, then click ok.

Photomatix will then come up with another box to align images, again click ok, wait for the script to do its magic and you will be presented with the worst looking image ever!!!! Fear not brave cameraists this is HDR in all its raw glory, you also will see a HDR viewer so as you scroll around the disaster scene you will see lots of detail in the viewer but not the bigger picture (seems ironic to me lol).

OK now we would normally bin this image as unusable so now comes the magic part...tonemapping! Hit HDR on the toolbox and in the dropdown menu seek out tonemap or hit ctrl+t, then more computing magic and you are presented with a much better looking image...play around with the strength and luminosity etc have fun!!! If anyone found this remotely interesting then I am quite prepared to carry on...let me know;o)

HDR1 - High Dynamic Range. It's a feature in Photoshop CS2 or Photomatix or FDRTools. A way to 'digitally develop' your photos using tonal information contained in multiple exposures of the same shot.

AEB2 - Auto Exposure Bracketing; simple automated technique professional photographers use to ensure they properly expose their pictures, especially in challenging lighting situations; taking two or more pictures: one slightly under-exposed (usually by dialing in a negative exposure compensation, say -1/3EV), and the second one slightly over-exposed (usually by dialing in a positive exposure compensation, say +1/3EV).

by mike andy.

Bunkspeed, Inc has announced today that their avant-garde 3D rendering HyperShot application is now available for Mac OS X customers.
The HyperShot is the solution for professional photographers, who are looking to obtain a 3D rendering way to compose sophisticated and artistic backgrounds for their images.

The Software is simple to use but is an extremely powerful 3D rendering environment which is perfect for photographers involved in automobile ,landscape and industrial design photography and marketing.

Snappers are able to directly apply paints and materials to 3D models generated in numerous popular 3D programs and placed into HyperShot.

Vic Huber, a famous car photographer, explained most of marketing photography is headed towards a more computer graphical design.
Sadly photographers and other artists have been limited in their access to CG imagery, because it acquires so much knowledge to master these complicated rendering programs.
Hubert also insisted that the HyperShot puts the creative element back into the hands of the creative people ,where it belonged in the first place,
Vic additionally revealed:

"The rendering firms can come up with great technical images, but the striking visuals, the compelling ideas – that should be done on the creative end. People want to see an unforgettable image, not technology."
"And HyperShot gives this capability back to the artists. It's affordable, and much easier to learn than traditional rendering applications. Both of these features really level the playing field again,"

The launching of the HyperShot to the Mac OS X platform is no big surprise because photography is dominated by Mac industry.
The relationship is perfect because Mac is preferred by creative photographers also.
HyperShot is now available in three versions the HyperShot Web priced at USD 195.00,the HyperShot HD sold for USD 995.00 but for the HyperShot Pro buyers need to contact Bunkspeed.

by mike andy.

Canon has announced on Thursday that the autofocus complications that have stained the lauch of Canon's high-end EOS-1D Mark III camera will soon be resolved.
The company revealed that the problem involves a mirror that directs light to the camera's autofocus subsystem.
When a photographer takes a picture, both the main mirror and the sub-mirror for the autofocus system flip out of the way to let light shine on the camera's main image sensor.
Nonetheless by simply adjusting that mirror the autofocus will be fixed.
Therefore if you were looking to purchase yourself the $4,500 Canon camera, equipped for any professional photojournalists ,you still can.
After many troubles were reported,Chuck Westfall, Canon USA's Director of Media and Customer Relationship,is reassuring customers that a remedy has been found.
Westfall explained that the company doesn't believe that every one of the Canon's high-end EOS-1D Mark III camera is affected.
And Canon has made it clear that it will rapidly provide a simple way for owners to identify if their camera is among those with an issue in the next two or three weeks.
US-based owners should be getting instruction first while buyers that reside elsewhere will likely be informed shortly thereafter.
It should be noted that new cameras coming off the line don't have the problem.

by Peter Timko.

We have just received awesome review at ephotozine.com! Here is what Rebecca Bradley had to say after she took the ProudPhotography course:

"The fact that you are able to learn at your own pace with this course makes it more convenient than many other courses and the information contained in each section is comprehensive and easy to follow, starting right at the basics and progressing through to the more advanced stages.

The tests at the end of each section give a good indication of whether you have completed each stage successfully and images and diagrams throughout the lessons help to demonstrate some of the more complicated concepts of photography."

Tips: Flash & washed out colors

by Peter Timko.

If you're taking a close-up shot, you might find that the flash is simply too powerful. There are a few techniques that you can use to avoid this.

try standing back and using zoom lens to get closer to your subject, or

place a piece of tracing paper or white cloth over the flash bulb

it's worth to check out if your camera actually allows you to manually adjust the power of the flash

If you're willing to spend some extra cash and your camera has a hot-shoe, you can buy a separate flash gun that allows you to control the strength of the flash.
